Jason Hutzler
Jason A. Hutzler is a personal injury attorney based in Phoenix, Arizona, United States, and the founder and owner of Hutzler Law, PLLC, a plaintiffs' personal injury firm he established in 2018.[1][2] Before representing injured plaintiffs he worked for about six years as an insurance adjuster and then as an insurance defense attorney.[1] He earned a Bachelor of Arts summa cum laude from Arizona State University in 2002 and a Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law in 2010, and was admitted to the State Bar of Arizona in 2011.[1][3]
Hutzler Law represents people injured in vehicle, premises and workplace accidents, and families bringing wrongful death claims across Arizona, on a contingency fee basis.[2] The firm has placed in AZ Big Media's Ranking Arizona list of top personal injury law firms, a public-voting opinion poll, from 2022 to 2025.[4][5][6]
Early life and education [edit]
In a self-answered 2022 magazine questionnaire, Hutzler said he was born in Saudi Arabia, where his father worked in the oil business.[7] His date of birth and middle name have not been published.
He studied at Arizona State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts summa cum laude in 2002, and later attended the University of Miami School of Law, from which he received his Juris Doctor in 2010.[1][3]
Career [edit]
Insurance industry
Hutzler began his career on the insurance side of personal injury work. He spent about six years as an insurance adjuster, investigating and resolving personal injury and wrongful death claims on behalf of insurers.[1] After law school and his admission to the bar in 2011, he worked as a defense attorney for insurance companies in personal injury and wrongful death matters.[1][7]
Hutzler Law, PLLC
In 2018 Hutzler founded Hutzler Law, PLLC, a Phoenix personal injury firm that he owns and leads. He has said he made the move because he wanted to represent injured people rather than the insurance companies he had previously worked for.[7] The firm operates from a single office at 4323 N 12th Street, Suite 101, in Phoenix, and represents clients from across Arizona.[8][1]
Its practice covers car, truck, motorcycle, bicycle and pedestrian accidents; dog bites; slip and fall and other premises liability claims; DUI injury accidents; work injuries; traumatic brain injury; and wrongful death, along with related insurance claims and litigation.[2] The firm works on a contingency fee basis, offering free consultations and charging fees only if damages are recovered through a settlement or verdict.[2] On the firm's website and professional directories Hutzler is variously described as Owner, Attorney, Lead Attorney, Founding Attorney, and Personal Injury Attorney and Owner.[1][9]
The firm's marketing states that it has "recovered millions" for clients, and Hutzler's biography says he has recovered "tens of millions of dollars"; these figures are self-reported and have not been independently verified.[2][1]
Hutzler was previously associated with Gurion Legal, PLLC, a separate Phoenix criminal defense firm run by Omer Gurion from the same building. The two firms present themselves separately, and Hutzler holds no current listed role at Gurion Legal. Hutzler Law has no affiliated businesses on record.
Bar admissions and standing
Hutzler was admitted to practise before the state courts of Arizona and to the United States District Court for the District of Arizona in 2011.[1] His State Bar of Arizona number is 028488.[10] The attorney directory Avvo lists his license as active with no misconduct found.[3] His firm biography lists no bar admissions outside Arizona.[1]
Writing [edit]
Before founding his firm, Hutzler wrote sports law commentary. His article "Myth of the Big 12's Grant of Rights", published by Outkick the Coverage on 3 January 2013, examined the grant of rights agreement among Big 12 Conference members.[11] The piece was cited in August 2013 by the college sports blog Frank the Tank's Slant in an analysis of the Big 12 agreement during conference realignment.[12]
The firm's Medium account (@hutzlerlaw) has published articles including "5 of the Best Car Accident Lawyers in Phoenix, Arizona".[13]
Recognition [edit]
Most of the recognition associated with Hutzler is awarded to his firm. Ranking Arizona, published by AZ Big Media, is a public-voting business opinion poll; its own write-up describes the results as "based purely on opinion".[5]

In November 2022 Arizona Foothills Magazine profiled Hutzler in its "Trendsetter to Know" series, a question-and-answer feature in which he answered the questions himself.[7] In September 2022 the firm issued a press release through Newswire announcing its PHOENIX Magazine Top Lawyers recognition, noting that 2022 was the first year of the magazine's Top Lawyers publication.[14] The firm also appears by name in AZ Big Media's annual Ranking Arizona personal injury lists.[5][6]
